Producer Overview:
Monchiero Carbone is a family estate in Canale, in Piedmont's Roero hills. The family's story in the vineyards began in 1918, when great-grandmother Clotilde Valente bought the first plot on the Monbirone hill. The name joins two winegrowing families, Monchiero and Carbone, united by marriage. Today the estate works only with the native grapes of Roero and Langhe. Arneis is its signature, and its Renesio Incisa Roero Arneis Riserva was named Italy's best white wine in Gambero Rosso's 2026 guide.
Wines:
Recit (Roero Arneis): Delicate and lightly spicy, with notes of almond and lemongrass and a fresh, saline finish.
Cecu (Roero Arneis): The estate's richer, more layered Arneis.
Roero Srü: Nebbiolo with aromas of rose petal, violet and cherry and a touch of gentle spice.
Roero Riserva Printi: Nebbiolo from the estate's top site, with plum, licorice and balsamic notes and firm tannins; built to age.
Monkey Rosa: A bright, fruity rosato.
Also available: Barbera d'Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo.
