Producer Overview:
Château La Rose d'Esteuil sits in the commune of Cussac-Fort-Médoc, between the celebrated appellations of Margaux and Saint-Julien on Bordeaux's Left Bank. The same family has run the estate for more than 13 generations, with steady respect for tradition and the environment. Its 45 acres of vines grow on gravel ridges close to the Gironde estuary, average about 40 years old, and are planted to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
Wines:
Château La Rose d'Esteuil Haut-Médoc: 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. A beautiful dark ruby color and a complex nose of spice and ripe fruit backed by fine, delicate oak. Elegant on the palate, with ripe, gentle tannins and a long, persistent finish.
