Weingut Franz Kramer was started with just three-quarters of an acre of land on the steep slopes surrounding the Mosel River. Today, the winery is in its 5th generation of ownership, and has increased its land holdings ten-fold, to just under eight acres. The vineyards are mostly planted to Riesling, although other white varietals, such as Kerner, Weissburgunder, and Welchriesling, are also cultivated. This small estate has four-times received an exceptional achievement award from the Rhineland Agricultural Chamber for their tireless efforts in the winery and cellar.
