Producer Overview:

The vineyards of Dr. Siemens are the most southerly found on the river Saar, totalling 35 acres, 23 of which are planted to Riesling. The slate soil vineyards were first planted in 1898, but now are around 30-40 years old on average. The original two story vaulted cellar still stands, and allows for gravity-flow based winemaking, which is both efficient and non-invasive, preserving the true nature of the wine. The winery has been owned and operated by Dr Jochen Siemens since 2006, and currently includes the classified Serringer Herrenberg and Würtzberg vineyards
